Founded in 1994 by local education enthusiasts, Ram Rekha Prasad Saraswati Shishu Mandir is affiliated with Shiksha Vikas Samiti, Bihar. It is managed by Gurukul Foundation of Education and Research Trust and follows the C.B.S.E. curriculum. Located in Ram Rekha Nagar, Ara, Bhojpur, it is a unique institution blending modern education with the ancient Gurukul tradition — grounded in Indian culture, philosophy, ethics and values.
The school campus is set in a serene, natural environment — spacious, ashram-like and welcoming — where children develop a love of learning alongside reverence for teachers, family, and the nation. The medium of instruction is English, and the school offers holistic development across cognitive, creative and emotional dimensions.
The school's objectives are rooted in the Gurukul tradition: all-round development of each child, character building, academic excellence, fostering national pride, and skill development. Every programme — from parent engagement and nature camps to student-run cultural assemblies — is designed to nurture knowledge, creativity and emotional strength together.
Physical, intellectual, emotional and spiritual development — guided by India's ethical, philosophical and spiritual traditions at every step.
C.B.S.E. curriculum delivered in English, with emphasis on Indian languages, using the Panchpadi (five-step) teaching method by qualified, experienced teachers.
Regular outdoor excursions away from city walls help children connect with nature, build courage and experience village life first-hand.
Paper, clay and cardboard toy-making, home science, music, drawing and — for girls — sewing and embroidery, nurturing creative and vocational skills.
Daily yoga, meditation and physical education alongside a full calendar of sports and games for the complete physical development of every student.
Teachers visit homes three times a year, and regular parent–guardian meetings ensure family and school work together in the child's best interest.
A weekly student-run assembly where children organise music, storytelling, drama and exhibitions themselves — building leadership from an early age.
A two-to-three-day residential camp away from family fosters teamwork, cooperation and social confidence in a safe, guided environment.
Set in a serene, nature-filled environment — the ashram-like campus is spacious, well-equipped and welcoming, with flowering gardens that greet children every day.
A large hall used for morning assemblies, cultural programmes, Shishu Bharati weekly events, parent meetings and school celebrations throughout the year.
Regular in-house events to promote all round development of the students
